Designed to reduce the complexity and expense of clustering the Smart Array Cluster Storage is built upon Smart Array and Proliant technologies to provide advanced data protection features yet is simple to deploy configure and manage. Ideal for entry level clustering the Smart Array Cluster Storage is based on SCSI technology making it a familiar and powerful clustering solution. As the customers clustering and storage requirements grow the Smart Array Cluster Storage may be converted to a SAN array by replacing the controller(s) and I/O module and installing a FC I/O (FC HUB) or FC switch providing the customer with extended hardware investment protection into the future.
The Smart Array Cluster Storage combines the array controller shelf and the drive shelf which holds up to fourteen 1² Compaq Universal Disk drives in a single 4U rack mount cabinet thats over 1 terabyte of storage. The Smart Array Cluster Storage can be remotely managed by using management tools such as Compaq Insight Manager 7 and Array Configuration Utility XE.
