Compaq announces the 64-bit/66-Mhz Fiber Channel Host Adapter a host adapter based on the Fiber Channel protocol that provides the interface for a Compaq server to interact with a Fiber Channel Arbitrated Loop. It is a key component for building a Fiber Channel storage solution with the RAID Array 4100. Compaqs 64-bit/66-Mhz Fiber Channel Host Adapter enhances the functionality of the RAID Array 4000 family of products by lowering the CPU host utilization from currently shipping Compaq fiber host adapters. The Compaq 64-bit/66-Mhz Fiber Channel Host Adapter also provides better Fiber Channel Arbitrated Loop stability with more host server isolation than Compaqs existing Fiber Channel Host Adapter. This new adapter supports single server applications and clustering under Windows NT and NetWare and is fully compatible with Compaqs full line of Fiber Channel products. The 64-bit/66-Mhz Fiber Channel Host Adapter has been qualified for use with the Compaq RAID Array 4000 family
